Microsoft Student Associate

 

"How Microsoft has impacted my life and how I plan to bring a change to the society being a Microsoft Student Associate?"                                                     

 

 

Microsoft has been in my life since I was introduced to computers. I remember, the only thing I used to do then was MS Paint. I loved to draw portraits and landscapes on it and show off to my friends, still do it.                                                                                                                                                                        

 



No doubt Microsoft Windows is the most used and friendliest operating system ever. It is the first operating system that made good use of mouse. Everything is done with one click.

 

In 2nd standard, I came to know about MS Office.  

Student life cannot be imagined without MS Office. All my presentations, synopsis, Projects, holiday homework are done with it. PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Reader, Word, Outlook, Note are so commonly used and in fact the only tools used by everyone. MS Office 365 is a complete package not only for business associates but for students also.

I gained some programming skills in 8th standard where I was taught Microsoft Visual Basic.

We were taught to print small messages on screen and small mathematical programs. The language is so English like and it made programming so interesting for me. I think, it was the point in my life where I got inclined towards programming and decided to become Computer Engineer.

 

 

Microsoft has also given one of the earliest Web Browser Internet Explorer. Currently I am using Internet Explorer 11. I use it in Start Screen Mode as I love its swipe features. OneDrive is a great way to store and share your work. Now I can keep my documents safe and keep them private, share them with contacts, or make the files public. 

Till then I worked with Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 7.       

I got my first personal laptop in college. It had "Windows 8" OS. Windows 8 is like a new world. It changed the whole experience of GUI. It updated the boring Start Menu to the amazing Start Screen.

    The best thing is that you could customize your Screen. Also the exciting Microsoft Windows Store gives you access to thousands of applications.  I also like using Microsoft Photo Editor . 

 





My first website on e-banking using ASP.net

After completing my 2nd year, I did my training in ASP.net. I built a website on e-banking using IDE Microsoft Visual Studio 2012. ASP.net is an open source language and its building blocks are Web forms that made it easy to develop Web Sites, Web Services and Web Applications. MS Visual Studio 2012 supports many programming languages like C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Ruby etc.. It cleared my doubts in C++ so well. I got so encouraged when I got 2nd position in this training. Also Microsoft provides "Express" editions of its Visual Studio at no cost. Commercial versions of Visual Studio along with select past versions are available for free to students via Microsoft's DreamSpark program.                                                                                                                                                               

 Microsoft has a great impact on my life since childhood. It has always been supportive to students. With programs like Microsoft Student Associate and Microsoft Student Partners, it has opened a new pathway for engineering students and provided an amazing opportunity to hone app development skills and become a leader.                                              

                                                                                                                                                                                                      

                Being a MSA, I would do the following to bring the change in the society

 

•  I will spread awareness about new technologies and products launched by Microsoft through social websites by creating groups, blogs and pages.

•  

• I will encourage my friends and classmates to participate in programs organized by Microsoft like Imagine Cup,  Microsoft Student Partner etc.. I will help them at all stages by providing them information about the same.

•  

• I will conduct seminars and workshops with my classmates in my institute to motivate students to make use of Microsoft Applications so that their work becomes more impactful and easy.

•  

• I will conduct contests in my college so that students can hone their knowledge about ASP.net, Visual Studio and other Microsoft products. This will help them to become a better Web Developer. 

•  

• I will take feedbacks from students about what are their problems regarding technology and what they expect and will provide this feedback to Microsoft .

•  

• I will make it a point that my family and friends incorporate Microsoft Products like OneDrive, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Adobe Photoshop etc. in their work.
